BREAD AND MY LITTLE ASSISTANT

One of the activities for my lil hanaa at home was making bread together. I know that some people already taught their kids to read as early as 3 but I don't do to Hanaa yet. I just did a simple abc reading or recognizing some words from pictures and scribble. Well different people have their own techniques to teach the kids. She is going to turn 3 on May but I always bear in mind that she is still a kid. Eventhough she did not go to playschool/kindergarten at her early age but she could speak very well, including making a complete sentence.Sometimes she may sound a lil bit cartoon dialogue kind of as she got it from tv, but I am really proud of her coz she knows how and when to use it. Wait, did I say tv?yes. Again, some people never introduced tv to their kids which I feel so amazed how they could do that. But for me, I do let them watch with me or without my direct presence but still monitoring the program and the remote. They picked up a lot of English  from tv and new words came from there to. And as a Mom, I would always ask them, what did they say, why did she say, what does it mean etc and make a lot of interaction while watching. And because of that both Daniel and Damia would always ask me the same then from that they learnt. Indirectly Hanaa would only pickup what ever 'summarized' by her brother and sister. Some of the sentence which I could hear from Hanaa at the first time but could shock me enough :-

- Mom, can we do gardening roses?
-Mom, I don't want to go outside, so cold, I want to stay home. (a long one)
- I like Violet color,  like rainbow (she totally picked up violet color from Ipad she really knew how violet looks like)

She also knew to use some grammar (some may have grammatical errors) by a lot of listening and practicing. For examples:-

- I don't like to eat. I'm tired eating!
-Mom, the bus moving. (she said as soon as the bus started to move)
-Mom, nobody watching tv now.
-Abang, mom said no fighting
-Mom, I don't  mad at you, you are my best friend!

Last but not least, a few Malay words that she knew:-
Abang, Kakak, Solat, Wuduk, Kepot (keropok ikan ganu), dokong (now rarely said this).

Anyway, I wanted to show my bread assistant  but somehow dragging to some other story I guess.hehe. well, enjoy our weekly activity, making homemade bread!!

SCHOOL WINTER CONCERT

I actually did not want to make this entry because if I try to remember the event, I feel so sad and heartbroken for the kids. They both were having a winter concert at school and they were looking forward for us to see them performing.

But, too bad at that time, my husband had to outstation to Busan and my lil daughter Hanaa was having a high fever. The concert was at night so I could not go. But since they had been practicing hard, the school insisted to take care of them. Instead of coming home and going with parents later in the afternoon, the school let them stay back until the concert finished. So they need to bring the concert clothes in the morning.

Talking about the clothes, the teacher requested them to be in white shirt/blouse and black pants/skirt. Daniel had it since before but Damia, I did order from online shopping site. After a few days, they called saying that none of those are available. Since Hanaa was not well and I could not go out for shopping, I just decided to sew for her the blouse and the skirt.

She was so happy when trying out those two and imagining how pretty she would be during the concert. These two pictures was taken at home, a day before the concert.

But during the concert, all the girls had to tie their hair. And her hair a bit awful, because she was at the school from the morning. This was after the concert, they were eating cookies and chocolates. Credit to my friend for the pictures and a few videos. She was there for her daughter, Anis, Daniel's classmate.

Before the concert started. Spotted Damia in the middle.

Daniel was a bit upset without my presence there.

Aigoo..what Damia and her classmate were doing..something has dropped maybe?hehe.

The close-up shot for my handmade blouse and skirt. I love this material, I had it sometime ago from Gwanjang market as well as the lining.

HANBOK DAY

It was after Cheusok last year. They had a Hanbok day at school so almost everyone was wearing it. Since both Damia and Daniel have it, so they were both willingly to wear it. If you notice, Damia's hanbok's ribbon was different in both pictures. On the right side, I made it not knowing there was actually a specific way to do it. The left hand side was right after the school bus teacher fixed it. hehe. it has to be a bit longer

The school bus' teacher was doing the ribbon. Oh yeah, Damia was wearing my handmade felt hairclip on her hair. Since she wears clips everyday, maybe I should also try to start back my felt crafting activity soon! in shaa Allah..

BIRTHDAY CAKES FOR SCHOOL

Since everyone in their classes brought cakes to school, I did too. Such a small celebration, eating cakes and gave small gifs and that was it! Some students asked me where was the candle? I was just smiling and said opps, no candle! But they were all good at giving support, they sang and ate the cakes. Eventhough only homemade cakes, but they could eat all finish!Alhamdulillah. As long as the kids were happy. Daniel already requested a strawberry cake for his next birthday, I can try but did not promise with him because his birthday is in October, it is hard to find strawberry at that time. But, we'll see.

Damia was born on 09/09/09 @1145 pm, amazing date huh? Normal delivery  at only Klinik Desa. (sounds familiar of this klinik?haha) It was 19 Ramadhan at that night. A gifted experience.

Daniel was born on 13/10/07, 3am @ 1 Syawal. Still managed to pay zakat fitrah ok?hehe. Alhamdulillah. 2 weeks earlier from the due date. Allah always the best planner!

GOING TO SCHOOL IN EARLY AUTUMN

Hanaa used to be excited every morning (not during the winter time), just like this to send Abang and Kakak to school bus stop. And sometimes, she would want to hug and kiss both of them. When Kakak started school, she felt so lost at home, walking around by herself and so much to cling with me. I thought when Kakak at school I would have much time to do the house chores or my sewing hobby. But it was the other way around.

Hanaa would want me to read books for her, do drawings and play the tea party! Well, sounded more work for me but I looked at it on the positive side. I could spend a quality time with her, helping her to become big faster (since helped me a lot in hanging and folding clothes and tidying up the toys which would normally be Kakak responsibility)

DAMIA AT SCHOOL

My Damia Tasnim. When we wanted to enroll her in school, we were so afraid if she could not cope at school, especially in the class. But after a few days, the teacher said she is a chatty girl and funny too. Oh, Alhamdulillah I am so relieved to hear that as Damia that we knew was a late warmer. Apparently, we chose to trust the teacher as we could see Damia's progress everyday. The Managing Director also told me that she is a tough girl and can fit in the school easily. Most of these picture I took from the online school newsletter. hehe..

DANIEL AND SCHOOLMATES

This picture was on the school website, the whole school when Daniel was in Year One last year. When he started Year 2, the 'family' grew larger and that means the school has been doing a great  work. In this picture, Daniel was standing in the third front row, second from the left.

I took this from the school newsletter. Daniel was smiling with his Shark!

Both of these were the mandarin homework for Year 2. At first I have to pretend to know Mandarin as well..haha..  I have to download Mandarin dictionary on top of my a few Korean online dictionaries on my phone for the sake of helping Daniel's homework. Now, he is getting better at it and can work on his own. phewww ....

Screenshot from my phone as I was reading the school newsletter online. I spotted Daniel in his class. Learning maths I guess..

Daniel in his swimming class. Swimming lesson in this school was his first time swimming ever so he's getting on it.

Spotted him again!

This was when he had his Physical Education lesson at the school field (it was their rooftop, but really super in terms of safety, creative is a must in the city)

Happy classmates!

Spotted Daniel again in the newsletter with his only Malaysian's classmate

Their visit to Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul. Daniel visited here first with his classmate and then join my first visit here with cousins a few weeks later. He was a good tour guide to us as he was learning about this earlier. Will talk about it in another entry with more pic of this place.

SCHOOL CHILDREN DAY & PARENTS DAY CARD

When Daniel first showed to me this card that time, I was speechless. Daniel was in Year One last year. That time I only knew a little Hangeul and did not know the writing. After going thru online Korean English Dictionary, I got it.

"Omma, Appa, Saranghaiyo" - Mama, Papa, I love you. Melted ok.haha

These pictures were taken at his school during the Children's Day Celebration. He was dancing with his classmates ok! Fengsannn mak..haha

Some other activities during that day. Parents were invited but only me and his sisters could make it. Papa, as usual he was busy working.

HAPPY CHILDREN'S DAY!

This was last summer event June 2014. Daniel was having his school concert that day. But earlier they had to practice throughout the week for the concert. This is Mrs Freeman, his music teacher.

The concert was held in Bundang, about 45 minutes driving as the traffic was quite bad.
Daniel was so happy that the whole family was there.

This was Daniel with his best buddy at school, Alex a cheerful boy.
