STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE

Since it is still the strawberry season, i would take this opportunity as much as possible to make use of it. I know the kids love to eat it fresh but i also know that they love any cake that come with strawberry!

HANEUL PARK WORLD CUP STADIUM

We went there at the early autumn last year. Went there with  a few families friends to enjoy the sunset and scenery on top of the hill at Haneul Park. We first passed by the World Cup Stadium before reaching the park. It was a long walk but we enjoyed the sun earlier.

We reached the top of the hill a bit late and rushing for Solat Magrib, so this was the only shot that we could capture for the sunset.

Before reaching the top, we took picture here. I like the background at the back. Mcm dalam drama korea cite apa tu ek, autumn in my heart? haha..taklayann..

Before going up, we had a small picnic with the families but I didn't have the picture or we were too busy talking and catching up.

SEOUL CHILDREN GRAND PARK

We went there last Aidiladha which we definitely would not do it in Malaysia.hehe. We used up as much as possible my husband free time. We went there after he Solat Raya at the masjid.

Hanaa's favourite spot, she was standing there quite a while thinking that she was a bird I guess...

As usual, whenever we go out, we always have a break time for eating our homemade food.

I knew that Damia would have given the best pose but this time I must say that Daniel has improved his photo session cooperation and pose.

They also have indoor area where some animals being kept here.

RED VELVET, again?

I made this cake for my hubby's group of friends who came over for dinner last winter. Alhamdulillah they liked it and could finish it in no time. Yerla jumpa makanan halal toyyiban. I cook chicken tomyam, sambal belacan, spicy grilled fish, sayur goreng and telur dadar. This cake was so simple but it was rich with cream cheese topping. Ah, I love the texture inside. Just the one that I wanted to see every time I'm making a cake.

GARDENING IN SEOUL

I did some gardening last spring and summer. These were some of them. I forgot to take picture of my daun kunyit with a big kunyit underneath.

Chili, but a made mistake. I planted the one that was not hot at all, just like a plain vegetable, phewww.. I then sprinkle some seeds of cili padi from Malaysia. It came out well but too bad winter came so fast at that time, I could not harvest anything from my cili padi.

These were some onion, I actually planted the green onion and was so surprised to see what was in there. I did not have enough big vase so I planted the napa cabbage. It was from the bottom part of it, after using what I wanted so I plant this bottom part, did not know what do we call that. Surprisingly too, I managed to harvest two times. I love the colour when it grew up, so green!

Someone gave me serai with a lil bit akar so we planted it here. It turned out to grow well in the summer and autumn but when the winter was here, I had to cut it all to be frozen.

Before going into the freezer, see gemok kan?

This is my scallion/green onion! I can harvest it many times. Just cut it all out and wait in three days.

APAM BALIK @ SEOUL

A friend of us brought a few cans of sweet corn cream style from Malaysia. So I decided to make Apam balik! It was always my favourite when I was in Malaysia, with extra peanuts.perghhh.. Eventhough the one that I made was not totally the same as we had in Malaysia, but still this was the best for me here. I never made one before, so this was  good enough. Alhamdulillah.

HANBOK DAY

It was after Cheusok last year. They had a Hanbok day at school so almost everyone was wearing it. Since both Damia and Daniel have it, so they were both willingly to wear it. If you notice, Damia's hanbok's ribbon was different in both pictures. On the right side, I made it not knowing there was actually a specific way to do it. The left hand side was right after the school bus teacher fixed it. hehe. it has to be a bit longer

The school bus' teacher was doing the ribbon. Oh yeah, Damia was wearing my handmade felt hairclip on her hair. Since she wears clips everyday, maybe I should also try to start back my felt crafting activity soon! in shaa Allah..

RED VELVET IN WHITE AND PINK FOR A FAREWELL

It was someone's farewell on that day, so I decided to make an RV cake for her and the colleagues as they have been asking for RV for a few times already. But this time, I decided to  make it a lil bit cheerful as it was for a farewell. Eventhough it was just a cream cheese topping, but it did look a bit different in white and pink. I love the combination eventhough it was the simplest one.hehe

KELAS BAHASA KOREA

Last autumn, I decided to join a free Korean Class  near Hoegi Station, around the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. It was recommended by one of the PHD students here, Ummu Hani. Since she was also in the class, so I decided to join. I could bring Hanaa too.hehe. I could not remember the exact date that I join but it was full of challenges. From my house I had to walk to Hannam Station, around 15 minutes walking, a bit slower as I was using stroller for Hanaa. Then since no elevator or escalator, I had to carry the stroller with her in it. Ouchh my back! Pheww..

Then from Hannam direct to Hoegi Station. From there, the was elevator going up from the track and and a bit of walk before going down to the street using the elevator too. From the station I have to walk another 15 minutes to the class at MODO Kids Library. Then I have to go up with stairs to the second floor. Imagine if Hanaa was sleeping I how I carried her. It was nearly one hour journey for one way, and it would take longer if it was raining or snowing. The class would be two hours and it was twice a week.

The teacher was so fun and so kind and helpful. We were having fun. Hanaa also had fun looking/reading the books there. But most of the time she would be sleeping throughout the class. I manage to read the character and the word except that I don't know the meaning. We learnt pretty basic thing first but it was so useful and applicable. I could write too, ok?

Then, sometimes during those cold days and snowing, I started to feel pity to Hanaa to go thru the cold days because of me. She kept saying," Don't want to go out, it is cold outside mom. Hanaa, home!". She was 2 years ++ at that time but yes, she could make that long sentence. But I still insisted her to go out until one  day she fell sick. It was started with her cold and normal fever until her high fever.

Then I decided to give up and quit the class. Now, I am still learning a lil bit thru youtube or some websites.

Some pictures of what we have been through for the class.

Hanaa was sleeping on my lap ;(

Waiting for the train at Hannam Station.

If it was a bit warm, this would be her favourite stop.

Looking at the pictures..hehe

  My book that we bought.

The library that we had the class.

It was raining earlier on that day.

DUMPLING

Dumpling! I have never cooked this in Malaysia but I did here! When we were outside, there would be lots of Korean street food that look so tempting especially during the cold days. This is one of the popular but we never bought it. We do not know what's inside and even if they separate found the filling but I am sure they will still using the same steamer or something. Well, anyway so I decided to google and found a very simple recipe of the wrap so I made it! I made it twice, one with ground beef and the second one with the fish cake. It tastes great when served hot!

This was the filling that I made for the second one. Fishcake, green onion, garlic, carrot, black  pepper, white pepper, sugar and salt.

KOREA WAR MUSEUM KID'S ACTIVITY

We went there before during winter, end of 2013 and it was full of snow. Spent time a while and came back. But this time, we went during summer 2014 it was quite hot and sunny outside so we decided to go inside. We were lucky because they were having kids activity inside. We had to pay KRW16,000 per kids and  KRW8,000 for adult. Since it looked so much fun, so we decided to spent money for the kids.
