CARROT CUPCAKES WITH CREAM CHEESE

This was another type of cake that I tried and I think I did it right. It was super duper easy, no mixer needed, fast and simple. Carrot cupcakes! With cream cheese topping, Daniel could eat it up to 5 pcs at a time..hehe. (he said he did  not like carrot..but..hehehe)

BIRTHDAY CAKES FOR SCHOOL

Since everyone in their classes brought cakes to school, I did too. Such a small celebration, eating cakes and gave small gifs and that was it! Some students asked me where was the candle? I was just smiling and said opps, no candle! But they were all good at giving support, they sang and ate the cakes. Eventhough only homemade cakes, but they could eat all finish!Alhamdulillah. As long as the kids were happy. Daniel already requested a strawberry cake for his next birthday, I can try but did not promise with him because his birthday is in October, it is hard to find strawberry at that time. But, we'll see.

Damia was born on 09/09/09 @1145 pm, amazing date huh? Normal delivery  at only Klinik Desa. (sounds familiar of this klinik?haha) It was 19 Ramadhan at that night. A gifted experience.

Daniel was born on 13/10/07, 3am @ 1 Syawal. Still managed to pay zakat fitrah ok?hehe. Alhamdulillah. 2 weeks earlier from the due date. Allah always the best planner!

HOMEMADE ICE CREAM

Summer Ice Cream. Home made and family. Perfect.

Happy customers!!

JEBUDO ISLAND, KOREA

We went to this Island last summer. I was just could not remember the place name, too bad huh? I think it was Jebudo Island. It was about 2hours driving from Seoul. When we wanted to cross from the mainland to the island, we need to wait for their designated time depending on the sea water level. We got lucky because both our journeys were ok. Some people just stuck on the island. Tourists trap? They could not leave because the exit road was completely covered! So the need to wait for the a while or maybe for hours?

Damia and her best Malaysian buddies here, Beeha and Ude

Hanaa and Balqis

It was just so happened that Daniel already covered the ocean topic at school, so he was so excited to bring back this little crab. He actually found two of them and named them Stella and Bella. haha I did not know how he could get those names. He even filled up a water bottle with the sea water and but Stella and Bella in there. But they both died on the second day at home.

Hanaa in action!

I brought Nasi Putih, Gulai Ayam, timun and choc cake. and kakzah brought beehun and sambal belacan if I were not mistaken and Aina brought the drinks.

Hanaa in action again!

We found a few food stalls on our way there so we did some fruits shopping.

This was actually before we arrived at the beach. Just stopping by to enjoy the scenery and the kids want to go to the bathroom.

Aina and family has gone back for good to Malaysia now, so I am not sure whether we will repeat the activity again or not as we are not really familiar with the area. sobs..sobss..

GOING TO SCHOOL IN EARLY AUTUMN

Hanaa used to be excited every morning (not during the winter time), just like this to send Abang and Kakak to school bus stop. And sometimes, she would want to hug and kiss both of them. When Kakak started school, she felt so lost at home, walking around by herself and so much to cling with me. I thought when Kakak at school I would have much time to do the house chores or my sewing hobby. But it was the other way around.

Hanaa would want me to read books for her, do drawings and play the tea party! Well, sounded more work for me but I looked at it on the positive side. I could spend a quality time with her, helping her to become big faster (since helped me a lot in hanging and folding clothes and tidying up the toys which would normally be Kakak responsibility)

STRAWBERRY AND FRESH CREAM SPONGE CAKE

Sponge cake with fresh cream and strawberries. You will find a lot of these cakes in winter as strawberry is so cheap during winter. I keep making this type of cake as kids love to eat this strawberry on top of the fresh cream and plain sponge cake. I am out vanilla essence right now and it is hard to find halal vanilla essence here so I have to redha until I get a new one or otherwise my cake does not smell vanilla and the taste would be a bit different without it.

HANAA IS A BIG GIRL NOW

It was in January this year when I took this picture. She is a big girl already and know how to pose in front of the camera out of my expectation. Never taught her how to pose but she just followed her I Kakak I guess..Hopefully Hanaa will see her picture here when she grow up later.

SUMMER FAMILY DAY @ICHON HANGANG PARK

Last June, We participated in the Malaysian  Embassy family days and a lot Malaysians in Korea came too. It was so happened at that day a Minister came for another seminar but spared his time to join us. Apart of the games and kids activities, they also organized a 'cake deco' competition. With a three people in one team, there were 5 teams participated. Being me who always nervous for any competition, and having inexperienced teammates just like me, we started later than others. All of other teams tend to cut the cake into two pieces and put the icing in the middle, we decided not to do so because we were thinking that the judge would not cut the cake anyway.hehe. (actually we were more on afraid of cutting since the cake was so soft and fragile.)

So, as I am known as a homebaker (at least) they other two asked me to start. Lets scroll to see which one was our cake out of these 5?

See how serious my face working on the deco.hehe. We devided the tasks at this time. None of my team mates was in the picture as one of them went to cut Kiwi and another one went to do the icing colour mixing and I did the deco.

Taraaaa!!!
Finally I could smile a little bit after bending my back for a while to make the roses deco. haha. That was the only little deco that I knew and needed more practice. It was so simple but looked sweet and nice. I could not thinking of other complicated design as we only have a limited nozzle. And these were my other two teammates.

Happy got a hamper. Two of us kept smiling see.hehe.

One of the activities by the kids, 9 of them in team. and we'll see whose on the other team?

2 of them? haha but the kids won in two games in a row. great!

My hubby, the emcee of the day.

Picture time! Daniel and Damia, two from the most left.

Last but not least, the cake that I brought to the Family Day for the potluck.

HANAA WAS ON FEVER

Last December was a bit hard for me as Hanaa my lil kid was having fever, very high temperature up to 40.5c.  My husband was so busy on and off for work and outstation so I have to handle the kids by myself. Knowing Hanaa who did not like to eat medicine, I did not take her to the hospital at first eventhough the hospital was just a 5 minutes walking away. But after two days, I decided to bring her to the hospital and got some medication and she refused, as expected.

Took this picture on our way out to send Kakak and Abang to the school bus stop. She was so excited going out as usual and brought all the stuffs handbag, backpack and etc. Going out during winter would take you forever to dress up especially with three kids. Look at Hanaa's outfit, going out for less than 10 minutes. I was holding her gloves at this time actually to put on her hands. Well, I like this jumper, all at one, on the go!

See this sad and sick face. :((

I took this picture when we came back from the Emergency room at 1am. I was there, rushing in middle of midnight 12am, in minus 5c outside temperature with Hanaa and her body temperature was 40.2c!! I was so panicked when her body temperature went up drastically. I was quite upset at that night in the Emergency room as only some of them know little English and I got angry when no one did anything in that situation, they just gave us an empty bed to put Hanaa and asked to wait. A few came and asked to wait.

Finally someone came and asked to wait for the Pediatrician. I called my husband, crying quietly in the ER but unfortunately he did not answer the phone as he was having an urgent meeting at the hotel seminar room. I was fully understand his situation as I was there before. Working like there was not tomorrow at that time. So I decided to make my own decision, went up to the counter and nicely (still sabar) asked them, hey can someone do anything as waiting for the Paed to come? Then with a shocked face, a nurse handed over a warm water and a towel to wipe Hanaa. She showed me how to do it and I did until the temperature went down a little bit to 39c. ( I brought my own thermometer, ok?). I was thinking I could have done that at home as, no need to come to ER. After 40 minutes, there was a doctor claiming to be the Paed but yet asked me "Mam, what you want to do now?" Argghhh, I am a normal human being, so I know the feeling of getting mad. Then I said with a bit of stressed voice " You are the doctor, so you tell me what to do or you do it now!" So he decided to give a shot instead of the Supp. Then a nurse gave a shot and told me, you can leave now, without even checking the temperature. After updating the situation when my husband called, I headed back home, again in that cold past midnight nearly 1am.

My husband came back home nearly 230 am and he was sitting against the wall in the room looking Hanaa. He felt so bad, as he could not do much to help me. So I was comforting him that I will take care of the kids matters and he needs to focus on the work, get Halal rezeki. I did not sleep that night, afraid of the temperature would go up again. I kept wiping with a warm towel and undressed her. Alhamdulillah the temperature went down and she felt better on the next day and started to eat her favourite homemade Kimbap,ok! Alhamdulillah.

One thing that I learnt, here if the temperature goes up we have to wipe with a warm towel instead of cold one as it might trigger the temperature to go higher. We have heater on in the house and cold temperature outside. Ok lesson learnt!
